Sister's Birthday

Sister's sweet 16. Was ok. Would have been more fun if I was allowed to invite more friends. The party sucked mostly because of all the band kids. But whatever. It was really fun after we ditched and went to Hang Out. Had a blast. Though thanks to Jason and Meghana, we probably won't be able to come back again. That's too bad too. The Brick Toast was to die for. Came back and watched Waiting. Thanks for coming guys. I owe you.

Interview with Chuck Austen

Q: Let's discuss the end of your run on "Action Comics." J.D. Finn was credited as writing the conclusion to your storyline, not you. Are you or are you not J.D. Finn? Because I remember reading your script for "Action Comics" #825 and it was quite different from Finn's story.

Austen: No. I think Eddie is J.D Finn. Maybe. That's a guess. I had a completely different ending in mind, one that left Gog a major villain, and... I mean let's be honest... I was ashamed of this initially, but let's just get this out there: I was fired and blackballed from DC. I was off Superman, period. It became complicated very quickly, from there. I was given the option of finishing the final issue of the arc I had begun, but being suddenly, and very unexpectedly, unemployed, I needed to find work right away doing something else. I was given the option to still write for DC, but not on Superman or any other top, or even mid-level character. I would have had to write under a pseudonym and take some lower tier project like "Prez" or "Blue Devil" that would have probably lasted an issue, and then I'd be out of comics, anyway. I turned that down because I knew that there were people who do like my work and I didn't want to go out with two strikes against me, I wanted to have the opportunity for anyone who did like my work to find it. So I went back to a hectic animation job that left me no time to finish my final script in the week allotted and they got "JD Finn" to do it.

Hahaha, what a loser...

Smallville this Thursday

DC COMICS' CYBORG COMES TO SMALLVILLE - A sympathetic doctor releases a half-human/half-machine subject named Victor (guest star Lee Thompson Young) who was being held captive and experimented on by LuthorCorp. While making his escape, Victor is struck by Lana's (Kristin Kreuk) car. After watching him walk away without a scratch, Lana calls Clark (Tom Welling) to investigate. Clark befriends Victor and promises to help him find his girlfriend, but Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) traps Victor and takes him back to LuthorCorp. Erica Durance, Allison Mack, John Glover and Annette O'Toole also star. The episode was written by Caroline Dries and directed by Glen Winter

Just Another Update

Hi.

Didn't do much today. Stayed for Jessica's worship for a few mins and took Meghana home afterwards. Got like two hours of sleep and went to Rick's house at 3. We played ball for a while and Alun and some church people stopped by real quick and left. Rick owned me with a rake and I was too scared to try and dunk with him guarding with that thing. Watched TV for a few hours and I took Rick to WaL-mART. Got the John Legend CD and took him to UCC. After careful timing, I discovered I can drive from UCC to Eric's house in 15 mins. Freakin Sweet. Saw Eric for about 15 mins and I left for home. Found this cool new promo for X-men: The Last Stand (above)

Update on Eric

For those of you who didn't know, Eric Shum was in a hiking accident and has been in ICU for about a week. Recently he's been released and allowed to have visitors. I just saw him for the second time today and I have to say, he's doing really well. Eric still has that award winning sense of humor that he's best known for. It should be a week before he gets out of Riverside Community hospital and hopefully into a closer rehab center, and a few MORE weeks until he comes back to school, but he seems to be doing very fine. Praise the Lord.
